WOW!
God is doing amazing things here in Antigua, Guatemala on our SUSIE Mag "Never the Same" missions trip. Today one of our teams presented the Gospel to a crippled man in a wheelchair. He accepted Christ and began walking.

Two girls and their leaders from another team led a prostitute to Christ. So far in our two days of ministry, we've seen more than 300 people give their lives to Jesus.

Tonight in FUAGNEM--our evening service (Fired Up And Going Nuts Every Minute!), I spoke on Judas, the progression of sin, and obedience. Students died to self and committed to become 100% obedient.

As they decided to live in radical obedience to the Lordship of Christ, several came forward to testify about how living in total obedience specifically will unpack itself in their lives.

• Aaron said he's ready to physically die for Christ.
• One girl shared that she's going to start respecting her family.
• Another said she would start a Bible study at her school.
• Someone else said, "I'm going to start seeing myself through God's eyes instead of thinking I'm worthless."

Probably 75 students came forward to testify specifically about what they'll now do differently because of their commitment to living in total obedience to Christ.

A few days ago, I asked you to think about how we can "Go Platinum" in our relationship with Christ. (See earlier blog entry.) I've enjoyed reading your comments, and I'll share in an upcoming blog my ideas on going platinum.

I'd LOVE for each one of you to begin praying NOW about being a part of our SUSIE Mag missions trip next summer. We'll be coming right back here to Antigua, Guatemala the first two weeks of July.

We'll begin posting information in our August issue of SUSIE Mag about the trip, and will continue with information each month from August through March.

It's beyond words what God is doing! I truly yearn for you to be a part of something so amazing! I promise you'll never be the same.

Love,
Susie Shellenberger

  5. Oh, no! I just entered the More Beautiful You contest! It ended June 30th, but I read it wrong: I thought it said July 30th. (My entry was pretty good, too!!) Please tell me I'm not the only one who made this mistake! It just goes to show: before you enter a contest, read the rules! lol 8-)

  7. Girls, the trip is usually a little over $2,000. Around $2200 or so. So start saving NOW so you can actually make it happen! Don't be afraid of the cost. We serve a BIG God. He won't drop the money into your hands, but He WILL provide a way if it's His will for you to come on the trip next year. But getting this much money will require vigorous action from YOU. So start planning right NOW! I promise, it will be worth every single penny!

  9. Hey, Susie!
You mentioned about living radically for Christ in your last post... my youth group was just talking about that.. we thought it meant like giving your all to him and living that to hte max, or stepping out of your box. Somehow, I am not sure if that is really what it means. Those are great things, but do you have a meaning for it?

  12. hi, Girls!

Some of you have asked about the online sisterhood and paying for it, etc.

It won't launch until September. When it DOES launch, if you have subscribed to the printed SUSIE Mag by August, you'll automatically get the online sisterhood FREE.

Everyone else will have to pay and extra $13 for it.
You'll receive a membership number and will enter than when you go to the Web site and that will allow you entrance into the global sisterhood. You'll get to connect with other SUSIE Mag readers plus get video clips and more articles than those who just go to the Web.

Remember, if you're already a subscriber to the printed SUSIE Mag right now, you'll get this online membership free. (Or if you subscribe to the printed magazine by August, you'll also get online for free.) AFter that, it'll cost everyone else an extra $13.

So please encourage your friends to subscribe to SUSIE Mag right now for $23 (12 issues a year) so they'll get the global online sisterhood for free when it's launched!!!!

They can subscribe at susiemag.com OR they can call 1-888-81-SUSIE.

  14. Wow, God is doing amazing things in Guatemala! I would love to go next year, but I will probably be traveling back to the US from PNG about that time, so I don't know if it will be possible. It sounds amazing, and I would love to go someday!

  17. Whoever wrote about PNG, I'll probably be going there for a week this year; So send me an email(susie@susiemag.com) and tell me where you are in PNG. I'll probably go to Kudjip and possibly Ukarumpa.
Someone asked about a lifetime membership of the global online sisterhood. It will be $13 a year .... which isn't bad at all!

  18. So if we sign up before August, and get the free sisterhood, do we have to pay the $13 after the first year?

  19. Hey Susie,
When are you going to announce who all won the stuff in the June mag?

  23. I am pretty eager to find out about the contest winners as well. When do you think you can post them Susie?

  24. Girls:

The online sisterhood will cost $13 a year. But you get this first year FREE if you have already subscribed to the magazine.

We're no longer posting the winners to all the prizes, because there are so many. We just email you if you won.

    Love you!
    Susie Shellenberger

  26. Hey Kay!
PNG stands for Papua New Guinea (I think!)
I didn't know what it meant at first, either, until I looked at Jessica B's blog! I can be pretty clueless, too, sometimes!

  29. I would totally pray, Abby! That's what sisters in Christ are for!
    Erin

  30. Abby, you dont have to ask twice! I think it's so cool that you would post a prayer request! (I was thinking about posting one myself) I agree with Erin!

    Kay 8-)

  31. Okay so the prayer request is about our youth group. It is kinda dead right now. There is hope though because we just got back from camp and are all fired up for God but. .. we don't have a youth pastor that is into it that much. She can't put her full time into our youth gruop because technically she volunteered to be the youth pastor because no one else wanted to do it. I found out a little bit ago that we are supposedly going to change youth pastors. The thing that scares me is that is it to late? We have had quite a few people leaver because we never do anything at youth group. Could you please pray that we continue to be fired up for God and do something about it? Also that we respond to the youth pastor's well and that we won't loose anymore people to other church youth groups! Thanks guys! YOu guy's rock! OH and sorry if this isn't clear enough. IT's kinda hard to explain. :D

  32. Oh and by the way their was another abby on here so to make things easier I think I will call myself Abigail. That is my real name anyway, but I just like being called abby. :D

  33. I understand you prayer request completely and I will be praying for you. But you just have to remember that this (and everything!) is in God's hands and that you don't have to worry. but that dosen't mean we don't have to pray for her, girls in the sisterhood, we need to lift up our voices to God in prayer and He promises HE WILL HEAR US!! I love you guys!

  34. Thank you sooo much Michelle!! You are right though I really just need to take comfort that it is all in God's hands. Update by the way. We had some people come to youth group last week that might become our youth pastors. They are reeeaallly nice and I hope they get hired but please continue to pray for God's will because they havn't been hired yet. Thanks again!!! Love all of you guys in the sisterhood!!!!
