Girls in the Sisterhood!

Our missions trip to Antigua, Guatemala was literally amazing. I really hope you'll pray about coming with us next summer. We'll have the info posted on the Web site in August.

Right now I'm in Michigan for two weeks. I'm speaking at two different family camps, and it's exciting to see God moving . . . especially in the lives of teens who are so on fire and sold out to Christ!

But today, July 17, is Obie's birthday. So I'm really missing my furry little four-footed friend. He's at home in Colorado Springs. Darin and Brenna Gregg move into my home when I'm gone (so Obie can stay in his own surroundings) and take care of him and love on him and even let him sleep with them!

Even though I know he's having a great time with Darin and Brenna, I can't help but miss the little guy on his FIRST birthday. Yep. Today little Obie turns one year old!

This may sound a little emotional . . . but as much as I'd love to hold and cuddle Obie right now, God wants to hold and cuddle me even more! I've been away from home forever (it seems like . . . I mean Guatemala and now two weeks in another state) and I'm missing it. (That's the whole month of July.)

But God wants to comfort me and strengthen me and just hold me. What a Father!
Thank You, Jesus, for loving me more than I deserve.
More than I can articulate.
More than I can even comprehend.

I love You, too, Jesus!
Susie

  1. I was just about to email you and ask you if you were going to do a mission trip next year. I'll definitely pray about it! Also, do you let college student go on the trip? I think I remember reading that you had like college helper people or something like that on the Brio trips. I have a friend who might be interested in that if you do. :)

I too have to search my heart and make sure Christ has all of me. thanks Susie for touching the heart of an old man! LOL

  6. Thanks Susie!! You always know the perfect thing to say!!
I'm making a lot of sacrifices right now to start a new school, which is a Christian school. I know that I've made the right decision, because God has truly led me here, but I'm still having trouble handing all of my worries over to Him. I am working on it more each and every minute though. Thanks for always encouraging us Susie! I know that God is here to hold me, and that He has a plan for me!!!

  8. Yes, college students can be a part of our annual summer missions trip! We use them at LITs (Leaders In Training). They're sort of "assistant leaders."

Our trip is for teen girls and teen guys who love God. It's two weeks (June 28-July 11, 2010), and we'll be going back to Antigua, Guatemala next summer.

We also need adults who love teens and can be leaders those two weeks; and we need professional medical people (who can help keep us healthy) and professional counselors.

In August, you'll be able to download all the information from our Web site by pushing the missions button: susiemag.com (in august).

Please pray about participating! I promise, you'll never be the same again!

    Your friend,
    Susie Shellenberger

PS: If you haven't yet subscribed to SUSIE Magazine, you can do that at our Website as well. This is a monthly, printed magazine that's delivered right to your home. It's for Christian teen girls!

  19. Yeah, except during February, when I'm tired of winter! But I love living by Lake Michigan. Sometimes during the winter I'll go there with my family and walk on the ice. It's really fun!
